THE under 18s Nambucca Roosters side are the last teamto fight for the premiershipfor the red, white and blue club after finishing the regular season in third place on the Group 2 ladder.

Despite having lastweekend off, the team is well-prepared for the upcoming finals. The first game is on Sunday against theGrafton Ghosts at Grafton. With kick-off at11.30am.

“Hoping to achieve awin,” 18s coach Jason Sheppard told the Guardian.

“We’re just focusing on one game at a time, we’vegot to beat Grafton to get anywhere.

“If we win, we get a crack at Sawtell for a spot in the grand finalstraight up, so it’s pretty important win.Otherwise we have to do it the hard way.

“There’sonly twosides haven’t beat this year, that’s Grafton and Sawtell, so we have to fix that up.”

After several strong performances throughout the year with, at times, minimal numbers, the team will be at full strength for the finals.

“They’relooking really good,” he said.“Had oneof the best training sessions we’vehad for a while on Tuesday.

“Noinjuries –theweek off was good …everyone that had a niggle had a chance togetover it.So we’llhave a full side of 19.

“We just have to be committed for the entire 60 minutes and we’lljust keep rotating when players look tired to keep them fresh.”
