Picture: JAMES DAVIESHORSHAMRural City Council has given residents and businesses an extra five days to make submissions on itsHorsham Integrated Transport Strategy draft report.

Horsham council released the report on July 29 with a deadline for submissions set for August 17.

The new deadline is August 22.

The draft report calls for new roads and bridges around Horsham over the next five to 40 years and recommends ‘option D’ for a truck bypass east of the city.

Horsham council has also released a draft Horsham Aerodrome Master Plan but its submission deadline has been left unchanged for August 19.

The aerodrome and bypass reportshavebeen heavily criticised by commercial pilots and nearby farmers.

Two information sessions were held at Horsham Civic Centre on August 11 to explain both transport documents.

Councildirector of technical services John Martin said that about 50 people attended each session, which saw a broad range of views being expressed about both plans.

“Some comments were made that there was insufficient time for the public to provide feedback and as a result, council has decided to extend the period for comments on Horsham Integrated Transport Strategy,”he said.

Mr Martin said that Council had not yet formed a view on the recommendations of either document, and is seeking as much public comment as possible to inform its consideration of the recommendations.

“For this reason, the period for comment for the Integrated Transport Strategy has been extended by nearly a week,” he said.

“Council will place a lift-out in the Mail-Times on August 17to help ensure that the community is aware of the proposed options and has a chance to comment on them.”

Mr Martin said that a detailed explanation of the recommendations, including a form that can be used to provide written responses, is provided on Council’s website at苏州美甲美睫培训学校hrcc.vic.gov419论坛.

The aerodrome master plan and transport draft report can both be read online.

“Council will consider all responses in its deliberations,” Mr Martinsaid.
