Glenn O’Shea leavesRiode Janeiro bruised, battered and without an Olympic medal, but with his pride firmly intact.

The Bendigo cycling star had his hopes for a medal in the omnium skittled by a crash in the final event, the points race.

The 27-year-old fell to the track after eventual silver medalist Mark Cavendish collided with Korean rider Sanghoon Park.O’Shea had nowhere to go and rode into the Korean.

Park was taken to hospital, while a post-race investigation cleared Cavendish of any wrongdoing.
